Not sure what, if anything, will replace the 550. ![]() |

Are you willing to give us the pro/con before the sale? Why are you selling so fast? |

There are really only two "cons" for me: 1. The motor is a bit weak. I know, I know... it's more than it needs, but it's just not enough. ![]() 2. I hate the noise of the straight cut main gear. <sigh> I knew going in that it was just an "I wonder" purchase, so I'm not surprised really that I'm already selling it. ![]() |

Dang, now you have me second guessing getting one. It is one heck of a good value, especially if I were to get one through Tower. I am real anxious to hear if you are going to get another 550 to replace it with. I don't have any 6S 5000's yet, but I plan to start getting several larger aircraft for that battery and a 550 might just be the first one. Good luck enabler! |

For the money you simply can't beat it. I was just a bit disappointed with the power from the stock motor, and I'm so spoiled to quiet helis that the gear noise disappointed me. |

Since I asked I will defend the E550... For a first-timer 550 the "normal" motor may actually be a plus and not a con. Chris is extremely picky when it comes to gear noise (and yet he runs a gasser plane?) I have three helis with straight cut gears and torque tubes... and I like them. Well, I guess I'm indifferent since I also like the herringbone gear driving a belt in another setup. I think the gear noise actually serves a safety purpose - it commands a little more respect from observers. The heli appears less like a harmless toy and more like the dangerous power tool it actually is. |

Agreed on all counts. ![]() As for the gasser plane? Different kind of noise. ![]() |

Price drop to $475. Now literally cheaper than a Trex 450. ![]() |
