I changed the oil in my Ryobi this weekend and what a pain. Could they have picked a worse spot to put the oil fill/drain plug? I ended up making a long funnel from some parchment paper; before that, I think there was more oil in my driveway then there was in the generator.

Well the news doesn't get much better.

I pulled the out shell off of one side of the leaking generator and cannot isolate the leak. On top of that Home Depot sent an email saying they denied the parts request. They gave me the option to return the entire set. There could be an extremely odd chance this weekend that I purchase an identical generator from a Home Depot location that just so happens to be damaged so I'll have to return it and get my money back. :?

I got the wiring finished and tried the good generator on the cargo trailer last night. It did very well. It alone was able to run the air conditioner on Low, the lights were on and a fan. After about 15 minutes I decided to try the AC on High but it overloaded the generator. Still very impressive.

Should have just bought a Honda! :tongue Sorry.... I'm just punchy because I got a great deal on an EU2000 through my work this week (I work for Honda so I might be biased :D ).

Seriously though, sorry about the PITA ordeal. I know how bad that must suck...

Believe me I wanted to. Problem is that the best price I found on the Honda EU2000i is about $1000 each. Purchasing two of those would have been about $900 more than I spent on these. I don't blame Ryobi for UPS & Home Depot sucking. I'm pretty sure that UPS could have destroyed the Honda just as well. :face

Thats the least they deserve, whats wrong with an organisation that knows what to do and could just swap out the one broken unit, but stick to the 'computer says no' defence!

Hope you get the faulty single unit swapped over OK ;)
