Friday evening I mixed up some fresh fuel for a possisble Maiden flight after the club meeitng on Saturday. My prop bolts didn't show up so that turned into show-n-tell and it was for the best in reality.

I didn't really like like battery setup and I needed some time to think about it. I ended up gluing in some pieces of lite ply to be able to mount the receiver and ignition packs to.

I also got the right wing on and taped off the area where it meets the fuse to be able to determine where to put the on/off switch.

My fuel tubes for the receiver antennae didn't work out so I just used some double sided tape to hold them where I want them.

The prop bolts showed up yesterday morning and now the plane is basically ready to fire up the motor and do a Maiden if the weather cooperates.

Two short flights on the Raven this morning and it required more adjustment of the expo than the trim.

I have a minor fuel leak somewhere from the tank to the carb, which might be the tank cap and I need to adjust the throttle some more. Relatively minor things but it'll probably take a good 30-60 minutes of work.

I also started on the Flex CAP this afternoon.

I started working on the fuel leak issue with the Raven tonight. As suspected an improperly seated o-ring appears to be the cause. I fixed that and put some fuel in the tank with the vent and fill connected and the line to the carb clamped off with a pair of hemostats. It didn't leak a drop of fuel no matter the orientation and with me squeezing the tank.

The blue fuel tubing I bought also is a pain to get off of the tank so I switched the line going from the tank to the filter to good old tygon.

I also started working on the throttle by marking the idle and full throttle positions. I also found getting the servo horn off is a pain due to the lite ply plate I added for the receiver pack.

Two fights on the AJ Raven yesterday morning. No more fuel leaking and after setting the timer to 9 minutes, I believe my 14 ounce tank should be good.

It's still a little rich but I forgot to dremel a hole in the cowl to adjust the needles Friday night.

I also need to get a new prop. I've torqued wood props down to 75 inch/ounces in the past but the prop I have now it getting crushed even with 30-35 inch/ounces.

The plane has a pretty good CG but I might try swapping the ignition and receiver battery positions because I'd like a little more rearward CG and I'll probably go with a Carbon prop.

I also found the pieces of PVC I put in the ground 5 years ago to hold airplanes when starting. The last time I used them was in late 2018 so a good amount of soil had been washed into them.

Falcon 20x8 Carbon prop ordered and I showed F3AUnlimited.com the love as an homage to my pattern time.

I do my the DeJaVu but I couldn't justify keeping it around and having to have battery packs I couldn't use with other planes most likely.

I added some velcro to the battery compartment of the Mamba 60E today and I might have to make a few adjustments.

Regardless it made putting the battery in easier today for the 3 flights I was able to get in today.

Tonight I got the rudder linkage setup, receiver installed, and put the wings on the CAP. i found the styrofoam packaging for the plane to be handy for setting up my Robart stand to work on some things. I need to adjust the aileron linkages and do some fine adjustment on the elevator and rudder via a computer hooked up to the Aura.

Other than a few minor details, all I need to do is figure out where the batteries need to be for the CG and put in some velcro to help hold them in place.
