I was doing OK after the first round but I lost orientation on a maneuver in both the second and third round. I didn't crash and kept going through the sequence but the DeJaVu is hard for me to see in gray skies.

I hate flying in gray skies. Still, that's not bad! And better than a day sitting at home. :)

I had to miss a round due to a change in weather and the wife wanting to have a date night so I got a full set of 0's which put me in to last place with the other bad scores. I got some good flights today and improved but didn't score high enough except to pull myself up to next to last because someone else had to leave early.

I also learned that I've been flying with the wrong sunglasses. Turns out it's better to not have polarized sunglasses and amber lenses when flying. So I'm not looking for a pair. Next pattern contest in 2 weeks!

Yeah, I used to fly with polarized all the time but now I either fly with my classic American Optical aviators (non polarized, neutral gray lens) or Zurich glasses, depending on how geeky I want to look.

Both are also made in the USA. 8-)

I am traveling for work again so not much to say hobby related. I ordered some new sunglasses yesterday on Amazon so I'll have them for this weekend. I went with the Oakley Flak 2.0 wire Fire Iridium lenses. I can also get additional lenses for the sunglasses and change them out if needed.

This about sums things up. I also believe the 30% the AMA states going above 400 feet is probably wrong.

Yeah, Jim summed it up nicely, and it's great to see the EAA joining the fight to stamp out idiocy. Even though I haven't been building or flying full scale recently, I've kept my membership current with them too.

I like what I'm seeing!

I might have to turn the EF Edge 540 proceeds in to a Plettenberg!
