So far 7 dead.
Sounds like the pilot was pulled from the burning wreckage.

Oh man, that's horrible. :(

Video has been removed, but there's plenty of info on the web now.

I wondered if the pilot somehow lost consciousness because of g forces because it looked as if he just never pulled out.

Could have I suppose although he has a really good pedigree he was a harrier pilot in the RAF and also ,as well as being an airline pilot and display pilot also flies for ultimate high which is an aerobatic experience place nearby. They do advanced aerobatic flight experience and advanced training where he is one of the instructors.

From the video, it's strikingly similar to when the Thunderbirds F-16 guy had to punch out at the bottom of a loop because he forgot to set his altimeter to field altitude, and simply didn't give himself enough room to finish the maneuver.

If the pilot survives, perhaps we'll someday know the cause.

an eye witness today said that he saw flames coming from the back of the Hunter before it hit the ground.

We was trying to pull out, nose was high at the time apparently

Im wondering if the engines died on him and he was trying to restart them???

Or it could have been full after burner that the eye witness saw?

Not sure about that Ben if you go on you tube and search for it the original video I posted has been shared lots by different users.
There is no flame out of the back end on his video but the wings are rocking as if it doesn't have enough airspeed or the pilot is desperately trying to manoeuvre it is hard to tell but for now I am with Chris he just exited too low. It could well have been the altimeter thing although shoreham is right on the coast and only about 10 feet asl. Jets can't land at Shoreham routinely because the runway is a bit short so he would have had to fly there from somewhere else.
