Yesterday I think I fried my ikon. Even though it says it is polarity protected. I mounted a new rx on my heli. The rx is a Frsky x6r. I plugged a cable into the sbus port on the rx and then into the ikon in ch3/s-rec port. The wires from the esc to the motor are unplugged. I turned on the Taranis, plugged the battery in to the esc and all the servos responded. Before I could plug the usb cable in to do a firmware update and check stick travels, the servos go quiet and the 2 leds on the ikon come on solid and it won't connect to the computer. The unit was hot to the touch.

I thought I had bought it from Helidirect and contacted them. They responded at 1am this morning and said if the unit was less than a year old, they would replace it under warranty even though I said I think I fried my ikon. They wanted to know my order #. So I dug through my records and discover I bought it from Amain Hobbies. Amain Hobbies will not assist you in any warranty issues and tell you to contact the manufacturer. I contacted Ikon USA and will see what they respond with.

If I end up buying a new one which I think I will, it will be from Helidirect and not from Amain Hobbies. :(

Ikon USA is apparently not the US distributor for Ikon. Prestige R/C is. Ikon USA gave me greg at Prestige R/C's email address and said Greg would take care of me. Sent him an email and will see how it goes.

Greg is a good guy. If he doesn't take care of you, tell him Chris will be mad at him. ;)

Greg has issued an RMA # and said as soon as he get the tracking number from the package I am sending, he will then cross ship the replacement to me. I sent him the tracking number so he will probably ship out the replacement tomorrow. I also have a second unit on the way to me from Helidirect. Is Helidirect part of Prestige RC? I noticed that the package from Helidirect is coming from Malden MA, the same town I sent the defective unit to.

Prestige is the wholesale side and helidirect is the retail side.
