Regarding John's theft, I've been very tempted to get some bicycle cable locks to run through the skids to secure helis to the table when not flying them or working on them. It would be much more conspicuous for someone to be walking away with a table filled with helis. :) I'd probably also have one securing the table to the pop-up shelter.

If they knew what they were doing, they could remove the struts, but that would take time, and extended time is not a thief's best friend.

The thing I can't figure is why the thieves would be from our community - they almost have to be. The AMA field is a long drive from anywhere.

I heard John's story on RCHN - I guess nobody found the DX18.

On another note, the Vortex is still $149 at HeliDirect.

It's really sad that it happened. Just too much temptation with all the models sitting around I guess.

I'll be trying out the Vortex once I get my Carbon Edition 570 in a few weeks.

I might be a little preoccupied with another little project. So could be a while before the 570 is flying.

I'm the ideal customer for a VBar Control radio (all my helis have VBars), but I'll probably never get one because I prefer to stick to one radio for all my aircraft (I also have a couple of planks and a Stingray) and the VBC won't suffice for the foreseeable future.

Allright Alex, it's time to spill the beans!

What's going to be "preoccupying" you for a little while?
