Just got around to listening to the show and heard the discussion of the Redwing airplane I built at the Austin 3D bash. I have a gopro time lapse of the build and the redo of the electronics after the BEC fried my servos. I traded the airframe with Gary for one of his and the rest of the story I don't fully know.
Yes I have done this stunt a number of times.
60" Laser at the Fort Smith FLI I sold at the event
This Redwing I built at the Austin 3D bash and eventually traded.
56" AJ Laser I built for the Tulsa 3D bash and will get back at SEFF (dad has it)
and I just half built and shipped a EF 60" Yak 54 to AZ for a winter plane at my families place that I finished and flew this past week.
Next season I don't see this happening again as dad is coming to SEFF and we might do a event in MO, but I think I will just leave a SEFF plane with him as to avoid all this work. I work for the airlines so flying is free.
I really enjoy events and driving the thousands of miles to get to any is just not feasable living this far North and East and this has actually been cheaper. I keep the gear, so it just the airframes.
Here is a video of my MXS that Cody flew a few times and is setting up similarly. Sorry, it is me at the sticks.
