Horizon just replaced the older ParkZone P-51D BL with the new E-Flite 1100mm P-51D. It comes complete with retracts and all the servos you need for 6- or 7-channel operation (throttle, aileron [1 or 2 channels], flaps, elevator, rudder, retracts). It looks pretty sweet.

1100mm is about the top end of hand launchability, so I could fly it at my field and have the option of using a runway at a fun fly. I'll probably wait until I crack up my PZ P-51D though.

The price is pretty good too. I don't even see anybody bitching about the price on RCG, which says something.

I just wish I could use retracts at our field. At least the struts have a little bit of shock absorption in the form of a coil spring. They even managed to do it without detracting from the scale appearance.

That looks really nice. Why didn't you post this before we recorded the show last night?

I may pick one up if I have any funds left after IRCHA. Now I have to decide whether I will install a Graupner receiver or install a Spektrum transmitter inside the mz-24. :thinking

There's a PNP version where you supply your own receiver. That's the route I'd go and probably put a Graupner GR-12 3xG or GR-18 3xG+3A receiver in it.

That is definitely the way to go then. Unless the increased cost of the BNF justifies purchasing it, then selling the AS3X receiver.
