https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51rBTUE32VAlink to one of the flights yesterday fellas...... Its really cool and works very well...
not all Great news though.. on my third flight I got a little cocky on one of the landing attempts and held Beta in too long on the way down.. very mushy at flare and when I banged the pitch on the plane tip stalled and landed hard breaking the firewall out and braking one prop blade... relatively minor damage but i'm down until I get replacement blades.. (from Japan).. Good news is no damage to the Hub or control system. No fault of the prop.. the guy on the sticks needs a little more VP time..
Overall the project is an outstanding success... Control is spectacular and adds a new dimension to fixed wing flying... not only can you slow down (very quickly) but power application with the governor and the pitch control is instant... very neat to fly this way.
I was purposely keeping the landings hot and beta on the roll is awesome!!!!!!!!!!
some takeoff in the video were done with the RPM set to 9000 and banging the pitch... its awesome!!!
power levels dialled back to 1500w forward static (1200w in air) and 900w static beta.. have 2000+W avaliable on this setup.
will edit a video of all the flight highlights when I get time...
Chris..
