Yeah, I moved up to Ohio. Apparently it gets cold up here. I'm attempting to get this jet maidened before winter!

I don't know what was worse, her damaging your liver or you damaging our ear drums from your singing (which was a direct result of the previous)!

Don't worry, Texas is home. I will be back there many times a year and I'm sure I can bring the jet down. Especially if there is an RC Today show fly in.

The build has been slow this week. Unfortunately bow season opened last weekend. So I spent most of last week scouting areas to hunt, then hunted over the weekend. I did manage to cut out the canopy, just haven't glued it in yet. I have been debating tinting it. So I didn't want to glue it on until I made up my mind. I have my mind made up... I think. I'm going to pick up some VHT plastic tail light lens tint from advanced auto parts tomorrow.

I went and picked up some VHT to spray the canopy. I tested scrap piece of the canopy and results look good. I should get the canopy tinted in the next few days.



I was able to get the retracts and gear mounted last night. Everything bolted up very nice. I had to trim a little fiberglass from the fuselage for the nose wheel to clear, but other than that it was smooth sailing. I haven't wired in the brakes yet, but the retracts are working flawlessly.

View from inside the fuse. Don't mind the bundle of wires laying in there, that will all be cleaned up later. I just wanted to get them working.


These Behotec electric retracts have there own ECU and programmer. Everything is adjustable. Its pretty slick stuff.


I'm getting very excited about getting this thing in the air. I hope I won't be too late. It's getting cold up here in Ohio already. I need to kick it into high gear.

I went to my buddies house this weekend, who was also the guy I bought the 180N turbine from for this build. He was finishing one of his many new jets and at the end of the build he decided to go with a bigger turbine (Kingtech 210) versus the Hammer 200 that was in it. So i proposed a trade and he gladly accepted. I would give him back the 180N turbne that I bought from him and take this 200N. This raises my max thrust from approximately 40 to 45 lbs. Great thing is that the 180N and 200N turbines are identical size and weight.



I just installed the new Hammer 200N in the J-10. Took all of about 5 minutes. Just so you don't think I'm pulling your leg. Here is a shot of the 200 installed and the 180 in my hand.


I also just tinted the canopy. I hope it turns out okay. It was getting dark.

After a couple coats of the spray tint, the canopy came out really nice. I'm glad I went ahead and tinted it.

Canopy is getting glued in now.
