Starting on my 3D Hobby Shop 47" Osiris. I was looking for a good pattern plane, but didn't want anything too expensive. This was also attractive since I could fly it in a smaller area than a full size pattern plane. Andrew Jesky told me that learning pattern will really help all aspects of your flying, including 3d.

I have all of the pictures here...

Most of them will make it in this thread at some point.

Looks like you will be in good shape there Bobby. Nothing like a good pattern plane. I have built a couple of Chaos over the years and have another one on the bench. This one will be electric. They are old school but fly great and I do like balsa dust now and then.

Yea 3DHS does great packaging job, and thats a good thing. When I got mine I literally watched the UPS guy throw the giant "fragile" box onto my porch and run off.

Hope your build goes smooth, they have some awesome airframes and easy to build.

Notice there are no instructions. Saving paper and money I suppose. I tried viewing on my netbook. Just didn't work for me. Ended up printing them out. Had to hunt for them online though. :(

So shiny!

String already ran to help with servo wire in wing. Nice touch.

Pull - pull cables ran.

Time to get started:!:

Instructions aren't very detailed. Take the time to read the intructions while separating the hardware. Not much detail to help you here. Put the wheel on the axle, file a flat on the axle, then install collar with blue loc-tite on the set screw.

Screw on the carbon fiber landing gear with a lock nut. Note that the landing gear will be swept back.

Too pretty!

I use a Hobbico hot knife to cut the holes in the covering. Just be careful. It will get away quick. This works great for sealing the edges while removing the covering.

Image

I mark the cut outs with a marker first. This eliminates mistakes. It is easier to do than you would think.
