Got back from Dayton, Or and RC HeliNation 6 last night. Nearly 800 miles each way, we did 540 on the second leg back yesterday. Too much for the kiddos, and too much for us, but various commitments dictated we be back last night. I had, and continue to have, some odd sickness w/ fever. That made driving home towing a fifth wheel fun.

Anyway, 60-70 Pilots, most camped out.

We parked at the end so our kids could run around and not bother anybody.

It was a pretty laid back event, closest thing to a “Pro” was Alex Rose... and man, can that guy fly! A German pilot, Simone Zunterer came over and did some amazing flying. Hard to put it into words but it was a very slow, flowing, 3D. She’s on the SAB team.
They have a tradition of the “Crash Hat”. Last person to crash wears it until next guy does. My buddy Marc won it and had never heard of it (or RCHN for that matter, just came out because I was in town).

It flew again that night under the lights and he smacked the heck out of it, blades out of track and all.
On the last night I decided to fly under the lights. Well, wait, not quite true. I told Marc if he flew Friday night, I would fly Saturday. I started flying right about the time the RCHN live cast on Facebook started. On second flight, and 10 minutes into livecast... I went in trying to cut grass. Marc took live video on Facebook as well.

Model was a Mikado 500 3D... thousands of flights on it and it was flying just awesome. It looks horrible, but frames appear good, links nd servos fine. Boom, braces, pushrod shredded.
The blades split and wrapped AROUND the main shaft.

All in all we had a good time. Have most of the parts for the Logo and credit from Mikado USA from canceling Vtouch for those I don’t.
