Yep, I just wasn't feeling it so I didn't work on it very much. Recently I had the urge, so there ya go. I also had a new radio to play with, so I used that new radio for the setup.

Jumper T16. It's OpenTX (or a fork of it), and has a multi-protocol module so it speaks everything.

So far I'm pretty impressed. Sunlight readable screen, nice feel. Range seems fine too.

I forgot to report back here, but the Oly III has finally committed aviation!

Our club field finally reopened after long-delayed construction was completed, so I loaded up the car with toys and headed out. I warmed up with some DLG flying, then scared all the foamy flyers at the club with the hotliner. Finally, it was time to see if the Oly would aviate.

The maiden flight was uneventful, and even though I hooked a couple of powerful thermals I of course did not exceed the 400 ft altitude limit...

Power from the Ammo + gearbox on 3S is more than adequate, and even at the slightly porky weight I ended up at it'll go vertical with ease! It thermals like an Oly, meaning the first flight lasted until I was tired of looking up. The motor was warmish after landing, but not hot enough to leave skin behind. Considering it was 90F ambient temp today, I'm good with that.

Flaps + Crow mode let me bail from a monster thermal with ease, and I landed it right at my feet.

Overall I could not have asked for a more perfect maiden flight.
