Bought one of those today at the LHS! Will get a high start for it, no power conversion planned.

Ordered a dynaflite hi-start. The one that says "up to 500 feet".

That's going to be a very relaxing plane to fly. Post some pictures!

Will do!

The histart claims to get it up to 500', that should be a few minutes of flight even without thermals.

Got the wings joined and the t-tail epoxied, not a lot to do t get it built. Cute that it even has a cockpit with pilot and all that. It looks like a "scale" plane.

Here she is, that old lady. Mock up so far.

And by the way, this is a triple rctoday show forum picture: Sophisticated Lady (this thread) on top of the Hobbyking DLG (another thread I started) on top of the totally taken apart 130X (also another thread I started). :-)

Can't wait to share my experiences once I got it done and Tower Hobby sent me the hi start. I got 2 spots where I should have enough space to fly it.

That is a great plane. I had one back when they were just kits, I want to say it was around 88 or so. Just a beautiful looking and flying airframe. I started with a Highstart, but it was always a pain to set up and take down, even if it did work well. I ended up putting a powerpod on the top of mine with a Cox .049 (Those were the days!) that made it much easier to get in the air, albeit much noisier and dirtier.

Flew great for about a year, last I saw it was heading west while I freaked out about losing control of it. To make it worse, my mom was less than cool about me losing my "stupid airplane" as well. In my mind it is still circling the earth, along with the Clancy Lazy Bee that also made a getaway about 10 years later. Sigh.

Nick, I bet it's sharing air with a HLG I lost in a thermal in 1994....
