While putting together my soph lady ARF I was looking or reviews. I noticed that reviews of gliders usually focus on the hi start process and how stable they are, and sometimes they mention "it thermals well". What I'd like to know is: what flight time did the reviewer get in no-lift conditions? That's what I REALLY want to know when i read a glider review.

E.g. If I did a review of the HK Mini DLG, I'd state "I get 40seconds of no-lift flying time, measured from the top of climb. Your mileage may vary."

That would be nice but I suppose in the real world there is very little flat air. even if it seems flat calm on the ground it could be blowing a hooley 100 feet up. last time I flew my easystar it was only about 5mph on the deck but up above 50 feet it was almost full throttle to stay into wind and hold position. my flying site is on the top of a 200m range of hills though...
