Hey Paul,

The Taranis won't natively bind to the Spektrum stuff, you need the Orange TX module:

There's a 'bind' button on the back of the module that you hold down on power up. Pretty simple! Oh, and welcome to the forums!

It's just a plug in module, the Taranis has a JR-style module socket on the back that it snaps right into. When you set up your model you just tell it to use the external module instead of internal. Boom. Done. :)

I don't leave mine installed all the time, the antenna is a bit unsightly. I just remove it and keep it in the TX case, and snap the blank coverplate over the module hole.
