so this kind of a question / looking for tips / best practices for mounting control boards on multi-rotors (and helis).

Lot of good ideas out there, multiple layers of velcro, foam, gel pads, the "Milton Mod", etc.

Just curious as to what has worked best for the new multis you guys have been building, specifically the KK2 board users?

i'm mid-build on my vtail (waiting for drive parts and control board), and would like to pool some brain power.

I took the regular 1" wide clear 3M mounting tape I use for gyros and cut it in half, stuck it together so I had a 1/2" strip of double thickness. I ran one of these down the outside L and R edges of the KK board and stuck it to the frame. Works perfectly fine for me!

I do something very similar and never had any issues.

In fact i don't think FC boards are quite as susceptible to vibes as some people make out.

As long as they are not flopping around and your motors / props are balanced i think you will be fine with almost any mounting methods

Perhaps Chris, RPMRPM would be a good person to answer this?

i have an idea i want to try with these:

and then i might try a second attempt with a pair of Dr Scholls gel inserts...

and my fallback plan being the stacked tape concept.

Those look like the mounting pegs that quiet PC Fans use.

I would have used a single layer of tape, but the pins sticking out of the board made it too "bumpy" for me to trust the adhesion of a single layer. I'm all about simplicity, so any of those other options seem like way too much effort.
