Got some flights on the heli now. Getting more confident with it. Flipped it a few times and just generally flew it around. Tried a little nose in hovering. I really need to learn all the orientations as that is how I have more or less learned 3D airplanes.
Anyways, Nick doubted the head speed calculator from the horizon specs so we changed the divisor in the ikon. My buddy Patrick rigged up my airplane tach with a lipo as a base and it turns out that 4 was indeed the the correct number. Just that the head speeds were using were too low for a 550. I have 1900, 2050, and 2350 set at the moment, but there is a low bobbling with the low setting so I just flew in 2050 most of the day.
We were safely a number of feet away from the heli when we read the RPM off the tach. The screen is pretty visible. The RPM was within 7 of the desired value, so I am pretty confident in the governor.
