Another DLG guy...

I place the blame for this completely on the shoulders of JPC as well as my local DLG Guru Nathan B.

I present my first DLG, a LDModels Stark.

Ahhh, sweet! I saw your post on Facebook about it. :thumbup:

I had the Libelle out last weekend, for the first time in months. I told my Dad that I was going to have to buy or build a composite DLG very soon. The Libelle is fun, but being so bendy it eats up a lot of launch energy. It's like trying to throw a whiffle ball. :lol:

I know what you mean. I have flown Nathan's Libelle several times, and it is allot of fun, but I am sure the flex hasn't helped me learn to launch. I threw this one a handful of times when it was his main competition ship, the year we met at SEFF, as a matter of fact, and remember it feeling more "true" when it left my fingertips. I am hoping for decent weather (read that as no rain or crazy wind, cause I know its gonna be cold) this weekend, so I can start working on my launch.

Its 260.3 grams all up with a 1 cell 350 and a X4R receiver, so it isn't the lightest, but it's not bad..

And yes, it's partially your fault...after hearing you talk about DLG's on the show quite a bit, and of course Nathan letting me fly his Libelle, and calling me every time he gets a new DLG, well, I just had to have one!

It really is a fun segment of the hobby, I know you'll have a blast with it. And I guess I can accept responsibility for this one, because Bobby isn't nearly as addicted to sailplanes as I am. :face

I'm jealous... Iflyos, you live close enough to go fly with the dess guys over in Wilson. I had a chance to meet Oleg Golovidov and Dick Proseus last weekend at my first f3k contest down in Atlanta... Great guys with a ton of experience. Going to s competition and seeing how high those guys throw, and how far they fly downwind has truly stretched my impression of what is possible.

Yea, they are really close..Nathan has been down there several times and placed 6th in the Pumpkin Chunk last weekend. He said the same thing, watching Oleg and Dick and Bruce has really shown him what a good pilot can do..
