In this episode: Chris and Bobby are joined by George Parks and Joel Blackthorne, and spend some time talking about EF-1 Pylon racing. This is a great way to get started in competitive racing without having to spend a lot of money. If you've ever wanted to really get your adrenaline pumping with RC, this is the way! Tune in!

Whew...from the title, I was afraid this was going to be an episode about NASCAR.

The EF 1 guys should show up at Apache Pass this upcoming weekend for a demo.

Cool stuff but I'm afraid the racing that has me intrigued right now is the 250 quad racing. Seems to be a lot of guys in my area getting 250 sized quads so hopefully soon we can start some 250 fpv racing. Would make a cool show if you can find someone knowledgeable to talk about it. I know they are trying to get some leagues going.

I bet you could build a good EF1 racer for the same if not less than a good 250 racer quad

Definitely cheaper to do EF1 (except crashwise. :) ) EF1 is cool but seems right now the fpv 250 racing is hot and it's got me interested for sure. I feel confident we can get enough racers for 250 racing but seriously doubt I could even get 4 to get interested in EF1. You never know though. :)

The Tx range testing mentioned in this episode happened in WA on the slope soaring hill. Tests were performed by RC Sportflyer. Futaba was a hair over 5 miles and Hitec 6+. Other brands were 3+.
Given the similarity between the FrSky and Futaba radio link I would assume FrSky has pretty good range & performance. :D LOL

Club 40 racing is big in my club and they keep telling me that I need to join in. Maybe I will but not sure I want to clean up glow fuel goo from an airframe again.
