Finally, life is returning to normal(?) and I've gotten back into the game. First task was a complete re-do of my workroom, including 27 ft of shelving and other stuff moved around (and thrown away). The first new build is the Evolution-W, a wood DLG! It's all laser cut wood, except for the tail boom and a few other composite bits. The price is amazingly reasonable (~$175) but of course you have to (I say "get to") build it.

Steve, it definitely has some unusual features. Like... NO SPAR! However, it really seems to work. The final product is wicked strong, and the prototype has survived several mid-airs that took out the molded DLG it tangled with.

Mine will be covered with transparent document laminating film. I'm trying to decide whether to color the balsa with acrylic paint, or spray tinted clear acrylic over the doculam for color...

No, it needs the stiffness of the doculam for rigidity.
